IM Careers Masterclass with Mike Todd (Near-Life)

Mike Todd is the founder and CEO of Near-Life. He has extensive experience in media and technology. Beginning his career in digital content, he has also worked in film and television: creating internationally acclaimed feature documentaries for the likes of BBC, ESPN and PBS. Near-Life was established 6 years ago around an interactive humanitarian aid project (Mission Ready), funded through the United States Aid department and the UK equivalent. The project garnered international recognition and its success prompted an invitation for Mike to speak at the UN World Humanitarian Summit, as well as to the UN in New York. A related project, developed with the Norwegian Refugee Council, was recognised for 'Excellence in Learning Design' at the Learning and Technology Awards - Europe's top EdTech awards. He most recently led on the delivery of a major interactive VR project with the World Health Organization’s Emergency Medical Teams programme. Near-Life’s interactive video and VR authoring tool makes it easy for anyone to create and share their own interactive projects.
The session will involve Mike discussing some of his extensive experience, designing and delivering interactive media projects, talk through the principles behind their authoring technology and share design ideas and practical tips for creating your own interactive games, stories and content.
