Architecture, community and climate change
Our research is focused on social housing, community consultation and the design of the public realm.
We work in partnership with local communities and listen to their thoughts about the future of their towns and cities to create sustainable, solutions-based and environmentally responsible design.

Projects and books
Community consultation
The AHRC-funded project Community Consultation for Quality of Life worked with local communities. The project outputs included:
- national reports on community consultation assessing the state of play in community participation
- code of practice for effective community consultation and engagement
- inclusive engagement toolkit providing practical advice on inclusive community engagement
From this research we are developing new partnerships to continue to work with communities to co-design buildings, places and spaces.
The Harris Museum
A selection of projects that were a collaboration between Ehab Kamel and the Harris Museum:
- Streets of Change: Beattie's Preston and Beyond
- Re-imagining The Harris, which included several stages of collaboration, such as:
- Truth Booth (a public survey)
