Biography

Lorraine joined the University in September 2023, leading the new school as it focuses on sustainable, solutions-based and environmentally responsible design.

Prior to joining York, she was Professor of Architecture at the University of Reading, where she was made Head of Architecture in 2016 when she set up that new school.

She chairs the Standing Conference of Heads of Schools of Architecture (SCOSA) representing 56 schools across the country, and she oversees the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) new courses group, which advises and reviews new programmes and curriculum development.

Research

Overview

My current research focuses on listening and consulting local communities on the future of their towns and cities.
