These scholarships and studentships are available to undergraduate students in the Department of Archaeology.

Choral Scholarship

The School has its own choral scholarships for three awards of up to £1,000 available to School of ACT Music students only.

Future Voices Scholarship programme

A package of financial and industry support to welcome talented UK undergraduates from Black, Asian, Gypsy, Traveller and ethnically diverse backgrounds to our creative community. This support comprises a bursary of £1,200 per year for three years of the programme, plus targeted mentoring.

  • Funding: £3,600 (£1,200 a year over three years)

Robert Ackrill Haigh Scholarship

In memory of Robert Ackrill-Haigh, this scholarship is awarded to a talented 1st year undergraduate string player.

York Performance Award

The York Performance Award is the result of a generous endowment by Sir Ron and Lady Barbara Cooke. The Award enables University of York students to perform in a venue beyond York in a drama and/or music performance.

York Minster Choral Scholarships

York Minster offers choral scholarships lasting 12 months or longer to altos, tenors and basses who are undergraduate or postgraduate students.

  • Funding: Approx £8,000
  • Academic year: 2025/26
  • Department: Any
  • Qualification level: Postgraduate research, Postgraduate taught and Undergraduate
  • Open to: International (including EU) and UK (home) students

Yorkshire Bach Choir

We are now accepting applications for our choral scholarship scheme for 2025/26. The 12-month scholarships will be open to all four voice parts.

  • Funding: £500 (to be paid in 2 instalments, one in December, one in June)
  • Academic year: 2025/26
