Terry Suthers Scholarship
This scholarship will contribute £1,000 to two students studying for an MA in Historical Archaeology.
Terry Suthers made a significant contribution to the field of historical archaeology and was a passionate believer in supporting the next generation of professionals, holding a strong belief in the importance of providing opportunities for younger colleagues.
This scholarship fund, donated by Terry, aims to support hardworking students who are passionate about their subject, and keenly interested in the world, allowing them a little more financial freedom to access and contribute to scholarship. Applications for 2025/26 will open on Monday 6 January and close on Wednesday 30 April 2025, 11.59pm BST
Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.
Open to students in the Department of Archaeology.
Open to current and prospective UK (home), EU and international students.
Open to full-time applicants to the MA Historical Archaeology in the Department of Archaeology, studying in September 2025/6.
Students will need to demonstrate the following:
- commitment to the field of historical archaeology, and the public understanding of archaeology and heritage
- academic merit
A question regarding widening participation & impact of receiving an award will also be asked. Answers to this will inform consideration of applications in the event multiple applications are deemed to be equally deserving of an award.
