We will select applicants based on the intended benefits to the visitor and host, feasibility and overall fit with consideration to equality, diversity and inclusion. The visiting researcher will be expected to give a short informal presentation during their stay outlining their research interests to foster further collaborations. To facilitate further collaboration the visitor will obtain ‘visiting researcher’ status for one year enabling access to our online resources.
The scheme is funded by Research England “Enhancing Research Culture Funding 2023-24”.
- Return travel to York
- Accommodation for 14 nights
- Subsistence allowance
- Contribution to visa costs

Applicants will be primarily based at a research institution in the Global South or in a country listed as an ODA recipient.
Applicants will be employed on a research contract or, for doctoral students, engaged in full-time study.
All visits must be completed by 31st July 2025.
