Jo joined the ADS in 2024 to support the delivery of the Heritage Science Data Service, providing core Digital Research Services as part of the RICHeS programme, to transform heritage science and conservation research and its capacity to advance understanding, preservation, and management of UK heritage.
Jo is responsible for the establishment and operational delivery of the HSDS for users and depositors. Liaising with funders and partners, Jo manages the strategic development of this new service and represents the HSDS at national and international level.
Jo has substantial experience supporting archaeology and heritage projects, having worked as Research Manager in the Department of Archaeology for over 12 years and previously as Editorial Manager for the journal Antiquity. She holds a BA (Hons) in Ancient History and an MA in the History of Roman Italy, both awarded by Newcastle University. Outside work, Jo enjoys agility and hiking with her two dogs.
