Burcu started working with the Archaeology Data Service (ADS) in February 2024 as part of her student placement, and officially joined the team as a Digital Archives Assistant in September 2024. She has a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology (2019) and an MA in Archaeology (2020) from Durham University. Burcu is currently pursuing a part-time MSc in Digital Archaeology at the University of York, alongside her role at the ADS.
Before coming to the ADS, Burcu worked at the British Institute at Ankara’s Digital Repository Office as Research Scholar. During this time, she developed an interest in exploring methodologies for egalitarian archiving practices, particularly issues surrounding ‘notability’ in digital archaeological records.
