Archaeology at York placed =26th in the world and among the top 5 UK institutions in the latest release of the QS World University Rankings by subject (2024).
This week, York’s Department of Archaeology reconfirmed its place among the world’s most highly regarded departments for the subject of Archaeology. This subject was ranked among the top 5 UK institutions, and =26th in the world by QS World University Rankings (2024), retaining its top-50 position globally. The department sits in our Arts and Humanities faculty, which was ranked 79th in the world.
Published annually, QS World University Rankings assess over 50 subjects, at over 1,400 universities, on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
