Congratulations to Masters Student Boram Kim for winning a York Award Gold!

Conservation masters student, Boram Kim, has won a York Award Gold for his attention to his employability and career planning during his Masters in the department. Boram was awarded the prize for his achievements in the Heritage Planning Studio, which works with York Civic Trust, as well as growing his skills in his hobby photography.

 

Boram said, to win the award "I described my achievements, I explained importantly what obstacles (culture, language, and lifestyle) occurred when I arrived in York, and how I overcame them with my advisors and friends. Therefore, I think this award can show how I can overcome difficulties, cope with them, and adapt well to the new environment. The Department of Archeology gave me profound knowledge, a variety of experience and a master's degree. I would like to study the heritage field in more depth by using the knowledge gained at the University of York."
