Object Conservation Lab
The newly integrated conservation laboratory offers practical applications for stabilising and preserving heritage materials.
Supporting the Department of Archaeology’s diverse collections and those from our professional partners, this is a versatile space adaptable for individual projects or large quantities of materials.
Located in PalaeoHub, students and researchers have access to a range of equipment and materials to facilitate the care and protection of artefacts, led by accredited conservation staff, including:
- Small hand tools for micro-excavating and cleaning artefacts
- Dremel Rotary Tools
- Conservation grade polymers for stabilising and refitting heritage materials
