PhD topic title: Knowledge, understanding and the demand for ivory

PhD supervisors: Professor Colin Beale and Professor Victoria Wells

Biography and research

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies MA(Hons) from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Conservation Management of African Ecosystems from the University of Glasgow. The combination of these academic experiences, coupled with my professional and voluntary experiences in the conservation sector across Asia and Africa led me to my PhD research focusing on understanding ivory demand. My previous personal experiences studying and living in Mainland China and Taiwan heavily influenced my decision to work towards understanding the complex drivers of demand for illegal wildlife trade products.
