Biography and research
I am a regenerative economist and transdisciplinary researcher, working at the intersection of new economic thinking, biodiversity finance and systems transformation. My work centres around understanding how to intervene in systems and redirect financial flows to support life on Earth, rather than undermine it.
My PhD research examines the interface of philanthropy and biodiversity, specifically, how philanthropic foundations contribute to shaping biodiversity outcomes. I focus on the hybrid role of foundations in the biodiversity and climate space as mission-driven and financial actors, critically evaluating their potential to drive (or hinder) positive change in biodiversity investment. I will draw on my experience combining qualitative methods and action research to engage stakeholders across the sector to collectively chart pathways towards closing the biodiversity funding gap and improving biodiversity, identifying best practices and leverage points for systemic interventions.
Prior to joining LCAB, I worked as a research and innovation consultant with NGOs in the UK and internationally, developing regenerative business models, organisational strategy and transformational learning programmes. I have expertise in designing and facilitating participatory and collaborative processes, depth interviews and focus groups and am proficient (C1) in French, Spanish, Italian and English. I hold an MA (distinction) in Regenerative Economics, holds an Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research Practice and a BA (first class) in Applied Languages.
