Write your will for free with Octopus Legacy
The University of York has partnered with Octopus Legacy to offer our alumni a free will writing service (UK only). Having an up-to-date will is the only way to make sure that the people and causes you care about are looked after when you’re no longer here, that’s why we have partnered with Octopus Legacy.
Their team is on hand to answer any questions you may have either on the telephone, via live-chat, or by email. This service is absolutely safe and secure, with no obligation, though we do ask that you consider remembering the University of York.
If you would prefer to talk directly to a solicitor, the will writing offer also includes telephone and face-to-face services, To find out more, or book an appointment, call the Octopus Legacy team on 0800 773 4014 and quote ‘University of York’ or click the link below.
This gift will cost you nothing to make today, the value won’t lessen over time, and it can truly make a huge difference. It will open doors for future generations of students, support our groundbreaking researchers, and ensure our campus continues to be a wonderful place to learn. Read further about the impact of legacies at York here.
In addition, a charitable gift in your will to the University of York will fall outside inheritance tax. You can also cut the inheritance tax rate on the rest of your estate from 40% to 36%, if you leave at least 10% of your 'net estate' to a charity/charities.
Including a legacy gift to York is in no way a condition of using the free will writing service.
