‘A Journey of Social Justice’ free talk by Alumni Award Winner Karen Wong

Join the University of York Alumni Group in Canada on Saturday 7 September 2024 at 12pm (Pacific Daylight Time) / 8pm (British Summer Time) for ‘A Journey of Social Justice’, a free online talk by the award-winning Karen Wong.

This fascinating talk will cover information about Karen, including her Masters at the University of York, her life in Canada as a Social Worker, sessional Lecturer and advocate, as well as her current PhD research. She’ll also discuss job prospects for Social Policy graduates - a must for anyone looking for a career in social justice and healthcare.

Not only is Karen a 2023 York for Life Alumni Award winner (Health and Wellbeing, she also received the Inspiring Social Worker of the Year from the BC Association of Social Workers in 2021 and the Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian Association of Social Workers in 2024. Both of which recognised her contribution to her advocacy work with people with dementia from diverse communities.
