Chinese alumni reconnect at gatherings in Beijing and Shanghai

The University of York recently hosted two highly successful alumni events in China, bringing together graduates for evenings of networking, nostalgia, and updates from York.

The first event took place on the evening of Friday, May 31, at the Hotel Westin Bund Center in Shanghai, followed by a second gathering on Sunday, June 2, at the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing.

In Shanghai, 24 alumni came together to reconnect and engage with university staff. The event featured a blend of networking activities and informative sessions about the latest developments at the University. Attendees enjoyed a lively quiz that sparked friendly competition and the ambiance of the Hotel Westin Bund Center added to the evening’s success. The Beijing event saw an even larger turnout, with 30 alumni attending the gathering at the Hilton Beijing Wangfujing.

Attendees at both events expressed their delight in being able to reconnect with fellow graduates, appreciate the stimulating environment, and engage with university staff. The successful gatherings underscored the strong sense of community among York alumni!
