Line managers will no longer be required to approve UoY training for staff members.

To help standardise and streamline the administration of training requests across the University it has been agreed that UoY training booked through the LMS (Learning Management System) will no longer require prior approval from line managers. This change will affect around 40% of staff and will bring them into alignment with the rest of the University.

Although formal sign off has been removed, all managers should remember the importance of development conversations that happen between themsleves and employees, including conversations around identifying training.

Managers will still be able to access training information for staff in their team via the LMS and Learning and Development training reports.
