New policy rates for 2024/25
We're delighted that our brokers have secured rates for our Critical Illness cover to continue at the same price for another year, which is great news for our existing policy holders.
This year, we will be switching providers for our Dental Insurance to Unum Dental.
A representative from Unum will attend the Benefits Drop in Session in Spring Lane Building on Tuesday 3 September, 11am - 2pm to answer questions about what is included in their policies.
Unum will also host a webinar for University staff on Monday 23 September at 11am. If you would like to attend this webinar, please submit your email via this Google form and you will receive the invite on 20 September.
If you currently have Dental Insurance through the University Denplan scheme, you will receive an individual email with further details by the end of the first week in September.
What does Annual Renewal mean?
Every year, our 5 insured benefit schemes (Dental Insurance, Private Medical Insurance, Critical Illness cover, Health Assessments and Health Cash Plan) go through something called Annual Renewal. This is when we broker for new policy rates for the coming benefit year, and work to get the best benefits for our staff.
September is called the Annual Renewal Window, and it's the opportunity for staff to review their existing cover in light of the new rates, or take up new selections. Some of our insured benefits can only be selected during September because of their in-year selection rules, so we encourage staff to take this opportunity to review what's on offer.
