UCEA conduct pay negotiations with trade unions on behalf of numerous HE institutions, including York.

An uplift is normally negotiated in time for implementation on 1 August. However, this year UCU and Unison have rejected the UCEA offer and have invoked the New JNCHES Dispute Resolution Procedure.

Negotiations were due to conclude by 29 April, but were extended at the request of the trade unions. The final negotiating meeting took place on 26 June.

As meetings under the dispute resolution procedure will be held during August, it will not be possible to implement a pay uplift from 1 August 2024.
