The HR business case has been submitted, with a proposal to include Finance in the new system procurement activity.
When it is approved, expected by early December, we will commence the procurement process in early 2025 for a system to support both HR and Finance. The precise sequencing and timing of rollout across HR and Finance is still to be agreed, but we know for HR, the end of life deadline for ResourceLink in March 2027 is our major milestone.
The programme team has received very useful input from the University of Durham about their implementation of a new HR and Finance system, and we plan to meet with the University of Hull next week who are in the middle of a new HR system implementation. Great to hear their insight, experience and advice ahead of time.
The HR business workstream is progressing well, with key policies and processes being reviewed. Updates and decisions will be shared when they are approved by HR SLT. The current focus is how to record sickness absence more efficiently before the new system is in place. More to follow.
The Technical workstream work is already underway for the data cleanse process. During 2025 a decision will be made about how much of the existing data in ResourceLink will be migrated to the new system (i.e. how many previous years records will we move across), and how we will be able to access earlier records. Preparing and cleansing data is important before the new system is set up and data quality will be essential going forward.
How will we keep you updated?
Our HR Transformation website is being redeveloped, and we hope to re-launch this by the end of November. This will be a useful resource for information about the programme, key messages and to keep you up to date on the transformation journey. The site will explain the transformation programme, the vision for future HR services, the role of the programme team and working groups, programme governance and key programme milestones.
