Make sure you are up to date on your training
Why training is important
As a University we are committed to providing an inclusive, fair and open recruitment process. We want to identify the best person for the job and ensure a positive experience for all candidates, regardless of the outcome. As part of our commitment we have mandatory training for all managers involved in the recruitment and selection of staff.
Shortlisting and Interviewing
If you are going to sit on an interview panel and/or carry out shortlisting you should, as a minimum, have completed the equality and diversity training. This is mandatory training for all staff so please complete this as soon as possible if you havn't already done so. Access the online equality and diversity training (LMS login required).
Chairing selection panels
If you are chairing a selection panel you must also have completed both Module 1 and Module 2 of the recruitment and selection training programme (LMS login required)
- Module 1 consists of online courses, training material and videos and can be done in sections, as and when time allows.
- Module 2 is a scheduled event on 'Assessor Skills Training'
We recommend that you undertake this training before you need to recruit as courses are popular and quickly become booked up.
Further guidance on composing your selection panel is available on our webpages and full details are included within the Recruitment and Selection Policy.
