Time to Talk Day was established to encourage everyone to be more open about mental health and emotional wellbeing - to talk, to listen, to change lives.

It is possible that someone close to you is suffering in silence. There are always opportunities to check in and ask about someone's wellbeing. This may be in the workplace, at home or at social gatherings.

Posters and social media resources are available to help you support and promote the day if you wish.

Health Assured, the university's employee assistance provider, have produced a helpful article about Time to Talk Day. Remember that Health Assured are available for staff to contact 24 hours a day on a free confidential helpline 0800 028 0199

University staff can also access the Mental Health First Aid Network, a network of trained staff who are a first point of contact for colleagues experiencing emotional or psychological distress.
