It is important that cases of Covid-19 continue to be reported over the the Christmas holidays via the staff reporting form. This is particularly important where colleagues are working on campus.
The University's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) monitors patterns of cases in both the staff and student populations so that action can be taken if there are any areas of concern. Therefore individuals who are working on campus and test positive over the winter break, should report this to their line manager, who should then complete the covid reporting form as usual.
Contact tracing is managed by the central NHS process. So track and trace activity will continue in the usual way over the winter break.
Departmental leads will not be expected to monitor or follow up on cases during the holiday period.
Emergency contact
If there is a covid related emergency over the winter break, for example a manager is concerned about a cluster of cases, then they should contact security on 01904 32 4444. Security hold the SPOC rota and will be able to escalate any cases that require urgent attention.
