Getting to work
We encourage staff to walk, cycle or take public transport to work. You can also come by car, although parking needs to be paid for.
Bus
The campus is served by several bus routes. The main services are the 66 and 66a ('Your Bus)'. Check website for route details.
Rail
York is well served by CrossCountry, East Coast, Northern and Transpennine services. Both 66 and 44 buses call at the station on the way to the University.
Interest-free loans for rail travel
Bike
With the University only two miles from the city centre, many staff choose to cycle to work.
You'll find bike racks across campus. There are also secure cycle stores at most colleges and many larger buildings. Local reception staff will be able to help you access these once you have started.
Tax-free bikes for cycling to work
Car
Car parks can be found on the interactive campus map. Once you have started you will be able to apply for a parking permit.
Parking operates on a first-come, first-served basis and your permit doesn't guarantee you a space. Occasional car users can use the pay-and-display car parks or buy books of single use permits.
Travel and parking for disabled staff
Most buses to campus are wheelchair accessible. Car parking is free for disabled badge holders, and all car parks have bays reserved for disabled drivers.
