What are development and assessment centres?

Development and assessment centres (DACs) comprise a range of exercises designed to assess current and potential capability in different areas, normally observed by a number of assessors.

We recognise that career development is very important to our professional staff.

We have been running DACs at the University since 2015 as a way to help support individuals who are looking to progress their development and/or career.

The range and multitude of activities within an assessment centre provide a greater correlation with job performance than other selection tools. They allow individuals the opportunity to gain a rounded awareness and appreciation of their strengths, preferences and development areas.
