Reader
To become a Reader, you must demonstrate substantial intellectual distinction with a sustained contribution in research and scholarship, bestowing considerable external recognition on yourself and the University.
This may take the form of:
- Publications in leading peer-reviewed journals, or other forms of output appropriate to the subject
- Sustained success in obtaining research grants and other funding
- Significant presentations at international conferences
- Successful supervision of an above average number of research students
- Prizes and awards, appointments to national or international bodies, or other forms of external recognition
- High achievement in knowledge transfer/innovation
- The wider impact of research contributions beyond the furtherance of academic knowledge
In addition, you must also demonstrate an effective and continuing contribution in:
- teaching and the promotion of learning, and in
- other forms of service
