Cars and parking

While we understand the need for people to drive to, and park at the University, we encourage staff, students and visitors to consider other means of transport where possible; to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions and make our campus and your journey more sustainable.

If you wish to park on campus, you will need to have a valid parking permit (purchased from the online parking permit system) or you will need to buy a pay and display ticket.

Top tip: Follow us on X (formerly Twitter) @UoYParkingBays to get frequent updates on car parking availability at the University of York.

Church Lane Building and its EV bays - temporary closure

Northern Power will be carrying out maintenance on campus on Tuesday 17 December, so there will be no power to the Church Lane Building or its EV charging bays. Power is expected to be restored the following day. Keep up to date.
