A successful Sustainability Week!
A huge thanks to everyone who participated in Sustainability Week last week.
From 4 to 8 March, the University of York hosted its tenth sustainability-themed week, formerly known as "One Planet Week". Over thirty activities were available for staff, students, and alumni to learn about environmental and social issues while engaging with the University's ambitious sustainability goals.
Events ranged from climate games and green talks, to building bee hotels and campus biodiversity walks. A highlight of the week was our very first Sustainability Fair organised by Anne Lister College, with 200+ attendees throughout the day. The fair featured a host of local charities, student societies, local employers, university teams and other activities throughout the day to showcase all aspects of sustainability.
Sustainability Week also provided an opportunity to engage the whole community with the University's ambitious sustainability goals, including talks about the Sustainability Plan, Green Impact and discussing questions on how we can continue to progress.
Thanks to everyone who engaged throughout this week and to all the event organisers for putting on these wonderful events. Going forward, make sure to sign up to our Sustainability newsletter and follow the University of York Sustainability on social media to stay up to date with upcoming events, opportunities, and news.
