YUSU's Sustainable Development Grant

News | Posted on Wednesday 20 September 2023

Interested in starting a sustainability project but need some funding? YUSU's Sustainable Development Grant may be able to help.

The Sustainable Development Grant, launched by YUSU in 2022, is available to fund student-led sustainability projects using the University's 20p Latte Levy. It funds projects that are aimed at improving sustainability at York and uses the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its criteria, so as long as the project lines up with at least one of these, it will be considered.

Your project could include anything from setting up more vegetable gardens on campus (meeting Goals 2 and 3: Zero Hunger and Good Health and Wellbeing), to funding events as part of a social equality campaign (meeting, among others, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities).

The funding bands range from £50 - £1000, however more expensive projects will be considered if you can demonstrate the need for it. Applications are accepted every semester.
