Staff and students enjoy another Climate Fresk workshop
Staff and students from the University enjoyed another brilliant Climate Fresk workshop in the Spring Lane Building on Wednesday.
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet today, and it's more important than ever that we take action to address it. At our recent Climate Fresk workshop, we brought together a diverse group of staff and students from our University to learn about the causes of climate change and how we can take collective action to make a difference.
The workshop was held in the Spring Lane Building on Wednesday 3 May, and we had a fantastic turnout with 16 participants. Through a 3-hour interactive card game, we explored the different causes and effects of climate change. We used facts from the IPCC reports, which are the same reports that inform global political and economic decision-making at the highest levels.
One of the unique aspects of our workshop was the way it brought together people from across the University community. We had academic staff, researchers, undergraduate and PhD students, and support staff all participating in the workshop. This diversity made for a truly collaborative learning experience, and it was great to see everyone engaging with the topic in such a meaningful way.
The workshop was designed to empower each individual to take an active role in learning about climate change. By activating the group's collective intelligence, we were able to generate conversations and ideas that will hopefully lead to positive action in the future. We believe that everyone has a role to play in addressing climate change, and our workshop aimed to provide the knowledge and tools needed to take action.
Become a Climate Fresk Facilitator
Looking ahead, we are excited to offer the opportunity for staff and students to become Climate Fresk facilitators and run more workshops in the future. Our training session is taking place on 10 May, and we encourage anyone who is interested to register using this form.
If you would like to become a facilitator, please attend a Climate Fresk workshop first (online options are available through the Climate Fresk organisation).
