Race Equality Co-ordination Group
The purpose of the group is to oversee activities, to challenge and to redress systemic inequalities and disadvantages experienced by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME*) staff and students.
The group will:
- Provide a vision and strategic direction to the University in relation to its anti-racism campus approach.
- Champion and oversee the progress of the race equality focus areas.
- Actively engage, listen and communicate its progress internally and externally.
- Report progress on key achievements and successes against the focus areas to the University Executive Board, EDIC and key stakeholder forums.
*Note: When using the term BAME in our anti-racism work we recognise that this does not fully capture the nuance and experiences of different ethnic identities, including the individual and cultural challenges these communities face. We will ensure that as part our actions and activities we will reflect and consider this.
