Reports made by students who are also staff members
Sometimes a student is also a member of staff, and may wish to raise a complaint about a staff member or a student. The relationship between the two parties will determine the most appropriate route for raising a concern and which university team is responsible for helping to resolve the situation.
Procedures for dealing with reports made by students who are also staff members about student or staff conduct
When a student who is also a staff member is raising a concern about a staff member:
- with whom they have a student-staff relationship (eg a student complaining about their lecturer, or their supervisor), the Procedure for dealing with reports made by students about staff conduct should be followed
- as a colleague, the Procedure for dealing with reports made by staff about staff conduct should be followed
When a student who is also a staff member is raising a concern about a student:
- with whom they have a staff-student relationship (eg a Post-Graduate Who Teaches (PGWT) reporting a student whom they teach, or a student who works at the university for example as a cleaner, Student Ambassador, or in catering, reporting the conduct of a student in their class or place of work), see the Procedure for dealing with reports made by staff about about student conduct
- as a fellow student (eg a classmate, flatmate, or another student encountered on or off campus) see the Procedure for dealing with reports made by students about about student conduct
