Dignity at Work and Study: Interim Policy Statement
The University of York’s Dignity at Work and Study Policy was revised and updated in 2024 to contain a greater range of information about appropriate reporting routes for students and staff who have concerns about harassment, bullying, and hate incidents.
- The Worker Protection Act 2024 came into force on 26 October 2024, which amends the Equality Act to require employers to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees.
- The Office for Students Condition E6 will come into force on 1 August 2025, which will regulate how Universities must tackle harassment and sexual misconduct.
The policy and associated procedures will be further updated in 2025 to reflect any changes that are made to University policies and procedures as a result of the new regulations.
We've provided further information below about the policy, related procedures and sources of support.
