Sending post

• Make sure the address is clear and written in the middle of your envelope or parcel.
• Do not use Sellotape on the front of your envelope or parcel as it can interfere with our franking ink.
• To ensure you always get your mail back if it is not deliverable, include a return address on the back of your letter or parcel.

Royal Mail postage

We offer discounted pricing on Royal Mail postage when you pay at the university mailrooms.

This discount varies depending on the service used. Contact us about the best price for your item/s.

Other Royal Mail services

'Signed for' delivery

We can provide 'Signed For' or 'Tracked' UK delivery via Royal Mail. 

• Your item will be signed for upon delivery.
• The service incurs an additional charge on top of the postage cost for either 1st or 2nd class delivery.

Special delivery

We can provide 'Special Delivery' via Royal Mail.

• Guaranteed next working day delivery by 1pm with a weight limit of 10kg. Prices start at £8.75.
• Guaranteed next working day delivery by 9am with a weight limit of 2kg. Prices start at £32.95 (including VAT).
• For more remote areas post will be guaranteed next working day delivered by 5.30pm.

Registered special delivery

• Registered special delivery guarantees next day delivery and also insures your parcel up to £2,500. 
• Prices vary for this service.

Guaranteed Saturday delivery

• Guaranteed Saturday delivery for parcels being sent to a residential address.
• Prices start at £13.02.

Parcelforce

For larger packets and parcels, you can arrange postage via Parcelforce through the university mailrooms, or the Parcelforce website.

• Express48 - for delivery within two working days.
• Express24 - for delivery within one working day.
• ExpressAM - for delivery the next working day by 12 noon.
• Express10 - for delivery the next working day by 10am.
• Express9 - for delivery the next working day by 9am.
