Faculty of Social Sciences
Welcome to the Faculty of Social Sciences. Our mission is to understand societal challenges to achieve social change for public good, in line with the University Strategy. We deliver on this aim through our approach to both education and research.
Our education focuses on providing an inclusive and empowering approach that changes our students’ lives and, by so doing, contributes to broader social change. And our research involves carrying out curiosity-driven and action-oriented research to help tackle societal challenges through improved understanding. In 2022, our Impact Acceleration Account was renewed by the Economic and Social Research Council for a further five years to support our focus on making a real difference from our research.
