PCMIS, a subsidiary company of the University of York based on York Science Park, is providing use of their cutting edge ‘Online eReferral’ and ‘Patient Portal’ tools to NHS clients for free.
Saving time
The systems allow patients to share personal information and update their symptoms via an online portal. This info then flows into the PCMIS patient record system, where it can be viewed and analysed by psychological therapy workers prior to appointments, saving time and allowing them to focus on symptom management and support during contact time.
The company have also been approached by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, to set up a referral and treatment system for their new COVID-19 Service, created to accept referrals from those in the Greater Manchester / Derbyshire region requiring mental health support due to the pandemic.
Support
Byron George, PCMIS CEO, said: “We hope that our efforts will help support some of the vulnerable patients affected by COVID-19. We have all seen the coverage of our incredible NHS teams and we want to do as much as we can to support them during the current crisis.
“Our systems can help NHS teams deal with some of the increased demand due to COVID-19 as well as helping them adapt to new ways of working digitally. These are challenging times for us all and we hope that these steps will help ease the burden.”
