York top 5 in UK for Environmental Sciences

The University of York scores very highly in the newly published QS Subject Rankings 2012, with a UK top 5 and world top 30 ranking in Environmental Sciences. York also scored a maximum 100 in research impact for Environmental Sciences, beating many other prestigious institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard and MIT.
The rankings are based on a survey of over 600 universities from 27 countries around the world, which saw more than 50,000 academics and employers consulted. Universities were scored according to academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact (number of citations per paper).
