Virtual Visitors - Understanding Cultural Value through Social Data
Event details
As museums, archives and heritage organisations increasingly open their doors to virtual visitors, what can we learn about the value of these visits?
Can social media data lead us to a better understanding of what we find valuable or meaningful in the museum, and how we represent these experiences?
This talk will discuss the opening up of shared digital spaces between the scholar, the public and cultural/heritage organisations, from crowdsourcing to Twitter parodies, and the opportunity this presents to decode and discover the value of these encounters.
